Time4Learning Reviews – Holy Grail of Affordable Online Homeschooling?

a child celebrating their education at their laptop

If you are an established homeschooler, there is no doubt that you have at least heard of Time4Learning. If you are new to this walk in life, get used to hearing about it.

There are a lot of online homeschooling options out there, so deciding on the best one for you and your children can become a cumbersome task very quickly, and may even rack up a high cost if you aren’t careful.

That’s where I think Time4Learning has its bases covered; it is an affordable online homeschooling option that provides a level of entertainment amidst the learning materials to keep children engaged and more receptive to the information.

However, I do not think that any single homeschooling curriculum will provide children with the knowledge they WANT to obtain, and the information they NEED in order to be successful later in life.

As parent-teachers, it is our job to determine what will teach them the right way. As such, I wish to share my opinions and experiences in these Time4Learning reviews based on my children’s experience as well as how it has affected my life as a homeschool Dad to assist you in your decision making process!

Hey there, my name is Jerromy and I am all about that homeschooling life!

I was homeschooled on a farm and I do my best to apply the same values I was brought up with as I teach my own children at home to this very day.

My main goal is to help other homeschooling parents make educated decisions about their kids’ schooling by providing resources and information to help them avoid the mistakes I have made on my journey homeschooling my kids.

Time4Learning.com Review: Honest Opinion from A Homeschool Dad.

This review is intended to cover the program at the surface level and reveal what benefits it can bring students, mainly homeschoolers. I will go into detail on the topics that my family and I like the most about Time4Learning.com

All statements included are from my own opinion and the facts I have witnessed with my own eyes regarding improvements that can come from using Time4Learning as a homeschooling curriculum for grades K – 5th.

All of my children get started using Time4Learning when they reach Kindergarten level and paired with other educational apps and resources, they have been able to learn to read and do basic math extremely early on in their first year of actual schooling.

Even my pre-k aged kids took an interest in the program by watching their siblings move through the interactive video-based homeschool curriculum, and couldn’t wait for their time to shine.

We have been through several different homeschool curricula and while they all have their pros and cons, I believe that Time4Learning has been the best bet for us so far for both our budget, and our children’s educational needs

Wasting money is never fun, but it’s an even harder hit when your children’s education is in question. As parents, we want to know that our investments are wise ones and that our kids are getting the quality of education necessary to become successful adults; if they enjoy the work they do, it won’t seem like work, and this applies even more so to their education.

What is Time4Learning?

Time4Learning is an affordable online homeschooling option for any family pursuing in-home education. The curriculum is more video-based than some options, and the lessons are comparable to games at times.

That’s not to say it doesn’t provide quality education though, especially if your child’s specific learning style aligns with follow-along and repeating information regularly.

There are printable worksheets and activities too, and my kids are always excited about the lessons that actually require hands-on learning.

You can also jump up a grade level to learn more about the subject at hand or go back a grade on the fly to reinforce knowledge before moving forward if they encounter any educational gaps as they move tho=rough their lesson plan for the week.

How much does it cost?

For Pre-k through 8th grade, the first student is $19.95 and every additional student is $14.95.

For High schoolers, each student will have access to 4 main courses for $30 a month and $5 per additional subject.

All subscriptions can start, stop, or pause at your discretion, and all your students’ progress will be saved. Truly a 100% customizable education experience!

How can it improve Homeschooling Efficiency?

The tools that improve the quality of life for both students and parent-teachers are one of the main reasons I rely on Time4Learning on a daily basis. Setting up weekly lesson plans is a sinch and takes roughly 10 minutes per student if you are even moderately tech-friendly. You can choose the number of lessons per day, how many school days a week, and what subjects or even specific lessons you want to be in their lesson plan with a few clicks of a mouse.

You can even set the acceptable passing grade for all assignments based on the subject so if your kid has a hard time with math, you can set it to 80% or so, and if they are good readers, you can set the acceptable grade for language arts quizzes to 100% for instance. They will have unlimited attempts to reach their target grade, so when they fail a test, you can hop in to help them figure out the correct answers and bring their grade up!

You can also generate weekly or monthly reports and print them out to stick on the fridge as motivation to keep pushing and achieve academic success!

After that, they can enter their own student account and access the lessons for that week. Once they are complete, Parents can log in to their own portal to review the lessons completed by their children and assess where they need reinforcement and what they are excelling in so their lesson plan can be adjusted accordingly, which is even easier once they have a few units completed.

What Subjects are Covered?

The main subjects covered are Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social studies. There are also options for learning new languages and getting extra help in math for additional fees; Think of them as electives that can be added on top of their current curriculum.

There is also a “playground” where kids can play educational games once they have met their learning goals for the day, and this makes for a great substitute for some of the less beneficial screen time elements they may be used to.

Who would benefit the most from Time4Learning?

In my opinion, those who operate a more fluid or relaxed homeschooling environment could make great use of this online homeschooling curriculum, but even those who have strict standards for their children where education I involved could use Time4Learning as a supplemental form of education for down days, or while traveling.

The fact that you can tailor their learning path to what they already know, and what they need to learn makes this even more viable for only accessing periodically throughout the school year if you use a different curriculum already.

At the very least, I recommend taking advantage of the 14-day money-back guarantee to try it out for 2 weeks before making a decision, or if you simply need something quick to keep your children engaged in learning while traveling. This could help you avoid packing books and school supplies around because the platform can be accessed from a variety of devices, but it functions the best on a laptop or high-performance tablets, which is what we use on a daily basis.

Is Time4Learning the Holy Grail of Affordable online homeschooling?

For my family, Time4Learning has been a lifesaver. My wife and I can still meet our work-from-home deadlines and still help our unschooled kids reach their educational goals every single day.

Our children have learned and continue to learn a lot from the platform, but there are still times when they need help understanding more in-depth topics. Some of the tests jump ahead a little and require them to answer questions that they haven’t covered yet, but I honestly think this is intentional, simply because it encourages kids to think about the problem and find a solution on their own.

While it may not be the best option for every family, for me and many others, it has provided a great way to unschool or offer relaxed homeschooling for our children, while still permitting us to live our daily lives more effectively.

Let’s face it, there aren’t enough hours in the day, and sometimes it is hard to balance a work/school/life balance that is beneficial to all my family members. Time4Learning gives me a way to simply point my kids in the right direction so they can take off on their education journey on their own, leading to more confident learners who develop the skills needed to be independent in life.

Granted I am never very far away, so as soon as they encounter an issue, I can jump in and give them a hand.

Final Thoughts on Time4Learning online homeschooling curriculum.

I know that everyone has their reservations, and I totally respect that. However, there is no harm in trying out Time4Learning to see if it is the right option for you and your students.

The curriculum is a little more lenient than most, and as such, it may take some children longer to learn certain topics, but with so many educational resources, subscriptions, and curricula out there, you can rest easy knowing their basic knowledge is covered with Time4Learning so they can build the skills they want to build by selecting supplemental resources that fit their interests.

I suggest using Time4Learning as the “central” curriculum, simply because you can set their lesson plan to 1 lesson a day or 100 if you see fit. This allows for a real “DIY” homeschool curriculum when you start adding coding classes or science experiments for instance.

Having the freedom to teach what when and where is 100% provided by this online homeschooling platform, and recommend it for any student between the ages of 5 and 12. I do not have high-schoolers yet so I can’t say that it teaches everything necessary for older kids, but I am sure that with enough creativity, you can find supplemental resources that give your students the exact homeschooling experience that will help them become successful as adults.
